Basketball Recap: East Iberville Finds Playoff Glory Versus South Plaquemines

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but East Iberville had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took down the South Plaquemines Hurricanes 66-47. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Hurricanes are ranked 344th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Iberville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points over those games. South Plaquemines has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season.

East Iberville will challenge North Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. North Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season. South Plaquemines does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
