Baseball Preview: Shippensburg Greyhounds vs. Northern York Polar Bears

The Shippensburg Greyhounds will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Northern York Polar Bears at 4:15 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Northern York is hoping to do on Thursday what Waynesboro couldn't on Tuesday: put an end to Shippensburg's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Shippensburg never let Waynesboro onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory.

Meanwhile, Northern York entered their tilt with West Perry with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mustangs on Tuesday and snuck past 4-2. That's two games straight that Northern York has won by exactly two runs.

Ambrose Depasqua made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Depasqua has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive pitching appearances. Depasqua was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
