Basketball Recap: Gaston Comes Up Short

Gaston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss. They were dealt a 57-26 defeat at the hands of the Nestucca Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Greyhounds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-31 back in January.

Gaston's loss dropped their record down to 1-24. As for Nestucca, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gaston will challenge Portland Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Portland Christian will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Gaston surely won't give up without a fight. As for Nestucca, they will take on Vernonia/Jewell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
