After losing to Winn the last time they met, Southwest Legacy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Southwest Legacy Titans walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Winn Mavericks on Tuesday. That looming 5-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Titans yet this season.

Olivia Ortiz made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isabella Salas, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Nevaeh Garcia also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Southwest Legacy's win ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-7. As for Winn, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwest Legacy will take on Warren at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Winn, they will face off against McCollum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. McCollum's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Winn's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
