Baseball Recap: Bullitt East Find Success

Bullitt East barely beat South Oldham the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Chargers never let the Dragons get on the board and left with a 7-0 win on Friday. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Bryce Abrahamson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hunter Holland, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Chase Meredith, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Bullitt East's victory bumped their record up to 10-3-1. As for South Oldham, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Coming up, Bullitt East will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Pleasure Ridge Park at 12:00 p.m. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Chargers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for South Oldham, they are taking a road trip to face off against North Oldham at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
