            Baseball Recap: Western Hills Cougars vs. Carter-Riverside Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Benbrook, Western Hills was happy to have turned things around  on Tuesday. They skirted past the Carter-Riverside Eagles  3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Cougars have posted  against the Eagles since April 26, 2021.
 Rodolfo Sandoval was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Sandoval was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in February.
 Sandoval wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Tyler Johnston, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those  two  hits gave  Johnston a new career-high.  Jacob Castillo also deserves some recognition as  he  got his first  hit of the season.

Western Hills' first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-13-1. As for Carter-Riverside,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 4-14.
Western Hills will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
