Softball Recap: West Wendover Has No Trouble Against North Tahoe

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when West Wendover and North Tahoe meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. West Wendover was the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over North Tahoe. With that victory, the Wolverines brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Brisieda Haro was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Yaretzi Saucedo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two doubles.

Haro wasn't the only one working in the hit department: West Wendover kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

West Wendover pushed their record up to 5-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for North Tahoe, they are on a 29-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
