Softball Recap: Patterson Comes Up Short

Patterson had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 9-14 to make it five. They lost 28-0 to the City College Knights. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Clippers were not able to get on the board.

As for City College, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. Considering they have won 12 contests by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For City College's part, Cheyenne Stidham and Imani Lewis made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Stidham pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Lewis tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Stidham posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2025. At bat, Stidham got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI, while Lewis got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Lewis is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, Keira Thompson was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with seven stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Brandy Ward, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with seven stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Patterson nor City College have any future games scheduled.
