Basketball Recap: North Hills Christian Eagles vs. United Faith Christian Academy Falcons
If the North Hills Christian Eagles were riding high off their 80-58 takedown of the Statesville Christian Lions last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. North Hills Christian was beaten by the Falcons 97-52 on Friday. North Hills Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 59-32.
Despite the loss, North Hills Christian still got an impressive performance from Champion Hayden, who scored 29 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That was a full 55.8% of North Hills Christian's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jerrod Drye Jr., who scored ten points.
Leading United Faith Christian Academy to victory were JD Bowden and Dylan Deluca. Bowden scored 22 points along with six assists, while Deluca dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Deluca hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Sutherland, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
North Hills Christian has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-13 record this season. As for United Faith Christian Academy, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Hills Christian will take on the Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. North Rowan has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 383 points over their last five matchups. As for United Faith Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
