After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Piedmont Hills, Leland was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Willow Glen Rams a 7-0 shutout. The Chargers were shut out 20-0 the last time they took on the Rams, so the Chargers were just returning the favor.

Leland's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-2. As for Willow Glen, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Leland will square off against Sequoia at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Willow Glen, they will host Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
