Recap: Palm Valley FIREBIRDS vs. West Shores Wildcats
The Palm Valley FIREBIRDS waltzed into Tuesday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past West Shores 58-25 at home. Given Palm Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while West Shores is ranked 1286th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Palm Valley to victory were Donovan Knott and Alex Ratner. Knott scored 9 points along with 10 assists and 6 steals, while Ratner dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was Ratner's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matteo Lam, who scored 10 points along with 6 assists and 3 steals.
Palm Valley pushed their record up to 3-0 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for West Shores, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Palm Valley will head out on the road to face off against Public Safety Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Shores will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Warner at 5:00 p.m. on December 6th. Hopefully Warner focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Friday.
