Baseball Recap: Rampart Comes Up Short

Rampart extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 3-11 in the process. They lost 16-10 to the Lewis-Palmer Rangers. If the Rams were looking for revenge after losing 14-5 to the Rangers when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Brayden Valdez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Justus Derickson was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

As for Lewis-Palmer, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-2. Considering they have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

On Lewis-Palmer's side, Joey Davis was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave Davis a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Charlie Lendt, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Looking ahead, Rampart will host Pine Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Lewis-Palmer, they will venture away from home to take on Air Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
