Baseball Recap: Barberton Comes Up Short

Barberton's last matchup with Highland could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Friday. The Magics came up short against the Hornets, falling 8-0. The Magics have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Barberton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Javon Clayton, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Barberton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Highland, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

Barberton will square off against Roosevelt at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Rough Riders have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Highland, they will be taking part in a tournament against North at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
