Volleyball Recap: San Juan Diego Catholic Comes Up Short

San Juan Diego Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the DaVinci Lions, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Saints of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

San Juan Diego Catholic took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-16, 25-17.

Despite the loss, San Juan Diego Catholic saw an underclassman step up: freshman Miah Loera had nine digs and two aces.

San Juan Diego Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for DaVinci, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6-1.

San Juan Diego Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against St. Mary's on the 4th. As for DaVinci, they will challenge McCauley Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
