Baseball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Oasis Christian's Third in Last Four Outings

Oasis Christian's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Altamonte Christian Eagles a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Lions have won five games by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Michael Gonzalez, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Gall, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Oasis Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Oasis Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. Altamonte Christian dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Oasis Christian and Altamonte Christian will both be playing First Academy the next time they take the field. Altamonte Christian will host First Academy at 3:45 p.m. on March 17th, while Oasis Christian will host them at 3:30 p.m. on March 24th.
