Volleyball Game Preview: Marion Giants vs. Heritage Patriots

Marion hasn't had much luck against Heritage recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 10:00 a.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Saturday, Marion came up short against Kokomo and fell 2-0.

Meanwhile, Heritage also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger by a score of 3-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Saints: they've now lost three in a row.

Heritage started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-18, 25-17, 25-21.

Marion will have to contain Grace Scheumann as she made an impact in Heritage's last game. She had ten digs and one assist.

Marion's loss dropped their record down to 2-29. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-7.

Marion couldn't quite get it done against Heritage in their previous meeting back in August as they fell 2-0. Can the Giants avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
