Softball Recap: Franklin Has No Trouble Against North Henderson

Franklin got themselves on the board against North Henderson on Tuesday, but North Henderson never followed suit. They were the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over the North Henderson Knights. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Suzanna Cabe made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-6.

In other batting news, Makayla Pendergrass was incredible, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with five RBI, one triple, and one run. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Jozy Dehart was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .587. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Henderson only posted an OBP of .105.

The win made it two in a row for Franklin and bumps their season record up to 6-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for North Henderson, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin will host Hiwassee Dam at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for North Henderson, they will welcome East Henderson at 5:00 p.m. on March 25th. North Henderson is facing East Henderson at the right time seeing as East Henderson is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
