Baseball Recap: Greenwood Takes a Loss

Greenwood had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-9 to make it four. They came up short against Halifax, falling 11-0. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, Greenwood's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Halifax, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games.

For Halifax's part, Cohen Bechtel was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Matt Kocher also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Greenwood will square off against rival Newport at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Halifax is set to take on their familiar foe East Juniata at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
