The Cedar Ridge Raiders and the Harker Heights Knights will round out the year against one another at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Cedar Ridge comes in on five and Harker Heights on three.
Even though Round Rock Westwood scored an imposing 65 points on Tuesday, Cedar Ridge still came out on top. Cedar Ridge escaped with a win against Round Rock Westwood by the margin of a single free throw, 66-65.
Peyton Dulin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 37 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Cedar Ridge's points. Randall Guidry was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, Harker Heights strolled past A&M Consolidated with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 65-49. Given Harker Heights' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while A&M Consolidated is ranked 498th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cedar Ridge pushed their record up to 10-6 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Harker Heights, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
