Football Recap: Paulina Romano Leads El Dorado's Defense on Wednesday

After losing to Troy the last time they met, El Dorado decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Golden Hawks came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 13-6 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Hawks.

Among those leading the charge was Victoria Correa, who threw for 240 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 71.4% of her passes, and also punched in one rushing score. Those 240 passing yards gave her a new career-high. 101 of Correa's passing yards were hauled in by Julia Laguilles.

El Dorado didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Paulina Romano, Presley Downey, and Lola Hinderliter picked up one apiece. El Dorado is undefeated when Downey posts one or more interceptions, but 3-9 otherwise.

El Dorado's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Troy, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Coincidentally, El Dorado and Troy will both be playing Villa Park the next time they take the field. The Golden Hawks will host the Spartans at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, while the Warriors will head out to face them at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
