The San Benito Greyhounds will challenge the La Joya Coyotes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. San Benito is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.6 goals per game this season.

If La Joya heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when San Benito took over last week. The Greyhounds were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Edinburg North on Tuesday. Given San Benito's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 163rd, while Edinburg North are ranked 376th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

San Benito hit Edinburg North with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Francisco Barrientos (2), Jiovanni Najera, and Diego Martinez.

Meanwhile, in Tuesday's Canine Competition, La Joya had to take the L. They fell just short of Alexander by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The loss put an end to La Joya's undefeated start to the season.

San Benito's victory bumped their record up to 5-1-1. As for La Joya, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1-1.
