Baseball Game Preview: Lugoff-Elgin Demons vs. Camden Bulldogs

The Lugoff-Elgin Demons are taking a road trip to square off against the Camden Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Lugoff-Elgin barely beat Sumter the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Lugoff-Elgin was the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over Sumter on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Demons in their matchups with the Gamecocks: they've now won three in a row.

Camden not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16, 2024. Everything went their way against Andrew Jackson as Camden made off with a 19-8 win. Considering the Bulldogs' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Camden has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. Lugoff-Elgin now has a winning record of 5-4.

Lugoff-Elgin took their win against Camden in their previous matchup on Saturday by a conclusive 8-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lugoff-Elgin since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
