Basketball Recap: Springfield Southeast Comes Up Short

Springfield Southeast was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 66-31 loss at the hands of the Springfield Senators. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 539th, while the Senators are ranked 100th).

Springfield Southeast's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Springfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.

Springfield Southeast won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Sacred Heart-Griffin at 5:42 p.m. on Friday. As for Springfield, they will challenge Rochester at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
