Softball Recap: Lathrop Snags Fifth Victory in Last Six Games

Lathrop hadn't done well against West Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Malemutes' pitcher stepped up to hand the Wolf Pack a 12-0 shutout. The Malemutes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Peyton Hamilton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Isla Holm was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Lathrop is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for West Valley, they moved to 7-6 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Lathrop does not have any more games scheduled as of now. West Valley has already played their next match (against Hutchison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
