            The Springfield Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to  take on  the Pope John Paul II Knights  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Springfield is coming into the  contest hot, having won their last four games.
Springfield proved they can win big  on Wednesday (they won by nine) and  on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past Rossview  5-3.

 Makenzie Cox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Brooklyn Richardson was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances.
 Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Pope John Paul II). They blew past Lawson 25-10 on Monday. Considering the Knights have won seven matchups by more than five  runs this season, Monday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Pope John Paul II is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 15.2 runs over those games. As for Springfield, they pushed their record up to 7-10-1 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home.
