Soccer Game Preview: Athens Academy vs. Rabun County

The Athens Academy Spartans will venture away from home to take on the Rabun County Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, Athens Academy got the win against Cedar Shoals by a conclusive 8-1. Athens Academy haven't had any issues with Cedar Shoals recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rabun County). They never let Banks County get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Tuesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Rabun County with their most commanding win of the season.

Rabun County's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8. As for Athens Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
