Floyd County is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Fleming an 11-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Floyd County Buffaloes will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Fleming Colonels at 5:00 p.m. Floyd County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 15 runs per game this season.

While Floyd County didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against James River on Friday by a score of 9-6 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The game was the first time the Buffaloes have beaten the Knights on their field since May 15, 2019.

The team relied heavily on Krey Blackwell, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Johnny Whitlow was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Fleming fell victim to Patrick Henry and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Patriots, falling 14-0.

Fleming's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Floyd County, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Floyd County took their victory against Fleming in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 20-0 score. Do the Buffaloes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colonels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
