Baseball Recap: Zuni Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tohatchi, Zuni was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Thoreau Hawks by a score of 15-10. The Thunderbirds have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hawks, too.

Keenan Ondelacy was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Dionte Ukestine, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Zuni always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .674. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Zuni's record is now 4-7. As for Thoreau, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Zuni and Thoreau will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Zuni will challenge rival Wingate at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Thoreau is set to square off against their familiar foe Tohatchi at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
