Basketball Recap: Citrus Falls to Weeki Wachee in First Game of Season

Citrus had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost to the Weeki Wachee Hornets on the road by a 75-56 margin on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Several Hurricanes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayden Parent, who went 8-for-18 to rack up 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Tyson Fern, who posted seven points in addition to nine boards and four steals.

Logan White was a one-man wrecking crew For Weeki Wachee. as he dropped a double-double with 21 points and 22 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave White a new career-high in blocks (three). Donnie BeCude was another key player, shooting 47% from the field en route to 19 points and six boards.

Citrus wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-32 loss against Hernando on the 19th. As for Weeki Wachee, they have also already played their next contest, a 70-67 victory against Tarpon Springs on the 19th.
