Basketball Recap: Wells Takes a Loss

Wells was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 53-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Owyhee Braves. The Leopards were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Braves earlier this season, when they won 54-44.

Rolando Espitia was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards for Owyhee. That makes it three consecutive games in which Espitia has scored at least a third of Owyhee's points. Another player making a difference was Hunter Smart, who posted nine points.

Wells' loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Owyhee, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-13 record this season.

Wells didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-24 victory against Carlin on the 25th. Owyhee has also already played their next match, a 47-40 win against Jackpot on the 25th.
