Bolsa Grande waltzed into their contest on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Everything went their way against the Santiago Cavaliers as they made off with a 13-7 win. The Matadors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Tank Britton made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Bolsa Grande let Nick Vazquez and Mikey Haley Jr. run wild. Vazquez got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Haley Jr. got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. That triple was Vazquez's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Junior Rizo, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Bolsa Grande was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They are 9-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Bolsa Grande's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Santiago, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-13.

Coming up, Bolsa Grande will challenge Santa Ana Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santiago, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Jordan at 3:15 p.m. on May 7.
