Basketball Recap: Lake City Comes Up Short

Lake City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Roscommon Bucks and fell 59-17. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 577th, while the Bucks are ranked 121st).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Roscommon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nemiah Carper, who posted 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Carper a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Kauffman, who went 5-for-9 on her way to 12 points along with five assists and four steals.

Lake City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Roscommon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Lake City will venture away from home to challenge Coleman at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Roscommon, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 57-56 victory against Manton on the 21st.
