Poynette had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Monticello Ponies an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Pumas might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by six runs or more this season.

The win (which was Poynette's 13th in a row) raised their record to 20-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Monticello, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Poynette will challenge Lodi on Thursday. Monticello does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
