Gabrielino is 0-9 against Arroyo since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Eagles will host the Knights at 7:00 p.m. Gabrielino will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Gabrielino took a 36-point loss the last time they faced off against South El Monte, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Gabrielino came out on top in a nail-biter against South El Monte last Friday, sneaking past 30-28.

Alijah Sheppard had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 177 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Those 177 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Marelle Moore Jr. also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Gabrielino was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 233 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Moore Jr., who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arroyo). They took their matchup on Thursday with ease, bagging a 44-6 victory over Marshall. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-0.
One reason for the win was Arroyo's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Damian Torres refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Jacob Dominguez got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Gabrielino's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Arroyo, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-4.
Things could have been worse for Gabrielino, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 15-0 loss to Arroyo in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Knights' Romeo Arevalo, who rushed for 194 yards and one TD while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Now that the Eagles know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
