Basketball Recap: Logan Takes a Loss

Logan lost against Ridgeline back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Logan Grizzlies were dealt a 59-32 defeat at the hands of the Ridgeline Riverhawks. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Riverhawks are ranked 23rd).

Logan's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Woolley, who went 6 for 12 en route to 15 points. Reed Olsen was another key player, putting up five points and 17 rebounds.

Dawson Low was his usual excellent self, going 8 of 12 on his way to 19 points along with eight assists and seven steals for Ridgeline. The game was Low's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cooper Hall, who went 5 for 9 en route to 11 points.

Logan has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Ridgeline, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4.

Logan and Bear River will meet on Saturday for a tough Bear Battle. As for Ridgeline, they will venture away from home to take on Green Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Green Canyon will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Ridgeline surely won't give up without a fight.
