After flying high against the Lakeview Lakers on Saturday, the Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda Coyotes came back down to earth. Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda's rough 77-55 defeat to Murray County Central on Tuesday might stick with them for a while. Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda has not had much luck with Murray County Central recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda still got an impressive performance from Tim Salentiny, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Dustin Hakeneis, who scored seven points along with six assists and five steals.
Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Murray County Central, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.
Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Madelia at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. As for Murray County Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Westbrook-Walnut Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
