While Parkland put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Louis E. Dieruff. The Trojans blew past the Huskies 13-0. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won nine games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Amelia Dawson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Scerena Reed, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Parkland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Parkland has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Louis E. Dieruff, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Parkland will take on rival Emmaus at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Trojans 4.1, the Hornets 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Louis E. Dieruff is set to square off against their familiar foe Pocono Mountain West at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
