It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Breathitt County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past the Powell County Pirates 8-6. The victory was familiar territory for the Bobcats, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Sebastian Howard was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. He has become a key player for Breathitt County: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-9 otherwise. Miles Hollon was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Breathitt County's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Powell County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.

Breathitt County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pirates: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
