Softball Game Preview: Lamar Silver Foxes vs. Darlington Falcons

The Lamar Silver Foxes are taking a road trip to take on the Darlington Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lamar is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Lamar came up short against Lewisville and fell 6-2.

Abby McManus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Lamar saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mallory Bullard, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Those hits were Bullard's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Darlington came up short against Hartsville on Wednesday, falling 9-1. The game marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Darlington's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Lamar, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Lamar suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Darlington in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Lamar avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
