Soccer Game Preview: Wylie East vs. Rowlett

The Wylie East Raiders will take on the Rowlett Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wylie East's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wylie East's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over Naaman Forest. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Raiders were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rowlett). They blew past Lakeview Centennial 7-1 on Tuesday. The Eagles have beaten the Patriots the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Patriots has come to flipping the script.

Wylie East now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Rowlett, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.
