Newton has gone 9-1 against Paris recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Eagles will head out to take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Newton has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight defeats, while Paris will come in with three straight victories.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Newton and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, and Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg kept the tradition alive. The Eagles fell just short of Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg by a score of 2-1 on Monday.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Newton sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 22-25, 25-11.

Meanwhile, Paris earned a 2-0 win over Neoga on Monday.

Paris not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Neoga between 18 and 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20.

Paris' victory bumped their record up to 23-10. As for Newton, their loss dropped their record down to 19-15.

Newton was able to grind out a solid win over Paris when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
