Recap: Bloomfield Christian School Defenders vs. Oakdale Academy

The Bloomfield Christian School Defenders waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 34-23 win over Oakdale Academy. Given Bloomfield Christian School's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Oakdale Academy is ranked 423rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Joshua Backos continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Luke Ruma, who scored six points along with six rebounds.

Bloomfield Christian School's lineup was just a bit different on Tuesday as Jordan Antone got a bit more time on the court (26 vs. his season average of 12.67). Antone made the most of the opportunity, scoring four points. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Bloomfield Christian School is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Oakdale Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

Bloomfield Christian School will look to defend their home court on Friday against Livingston Christian at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Bloomfield Christian School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for Oakdale Academy, they will head out on the road to take on More Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. More Academy is coming into the contest with three straight victories at home, meaning Oakdale Academy will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
