Volleyball Recap: Medina Battling Bees vs. Mentor Cardinals

Medina lost against Mentor back in September, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Medina Battling Bees fell just short of the Mentor Cardinals by a score of 3-2. The Battling Bees haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Medina took Mentor into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 18-25, 23-25, 25-14, 15-8.

Despite the defeat, Medina saw an underclassman step up: Grace Tabaka had 12 digs and two aces. Tabaka has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played.

Sophia Kiggins was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 18 digs. Another player making a difference was Kaliah Evitts, who had six digs and two aces.

Medina's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Mentor, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-5.
