Basketball Recap: Pinnacle Pioneers vs. Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions

There's no place like home for the Pinnacle Pioneers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They took down Mountain Ridge 71-54 on Friday. Given Pinnacle's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Mountain Lions are ranked 113th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Braylon Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jameson Vick, who scored seven points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Jaiden Thompson and Andy Saeva certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Thompson scored 25 points along with three steals, while Saeva scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Saeva continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Dallin Smith was another key contributor, scoring six points.

Pinnacle's victory bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Mountain Ridge, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-18.

Pinnacle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mountain Ridge also has no future games currently scheduled.
