Baseball Game Preview: Meridian Mustangs vs. Gladwin Flying G's

The Meridian Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Gladwin Flying G at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meridian has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Meridian came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Standish-Sterling, falling 11-2.

Meridian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Bowen, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one double. Bowen is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Meanwhile, Gladwin had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They never let the Hornets get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Flying G's, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meridian now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Gladwin, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
