Baseball Recap: Northeast Comes Up Short

Northeast fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Galena on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-2. The game marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Northeast saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tegan Mitchell, who scored a run while going 1-for-5. Mitchell also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Northeast dropped their record down to 3-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Galena, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bulldogs beat Northeast by a score of 11-1 later that day.
