Covington extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping them up to 3-0. Everything went their way against the L.W. Higgins Hurricanes as they made off with a 75-54 win. Fans of the Lions have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

As for L.W. Higgins, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3. On the bright side, the 54- point performance marked their highest-scoring game to date.

Despite the defeat, L.W. Higgins saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cormelo Howard posted 22 points. The matchup was Howard's third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fredrick Washington, who put up eight points.

Covington has already played their next contest, a 66-59 loss against Slidell on the 25th. As for L.W. Higgins, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 43-39 victory against Franklinton on the 25th.
