Baseball Recap: Westbury Green Dragons vs. Valley Stream Central Eagles
Westbury extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-3 in the process. They lost 11-0 to the Valley Stream Central Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 on Friday.
Westbury saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Cruz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.
As for Valley Stream Central, the win keeps they at an undefeated 15-0-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games.
On Valley Stream Central's side, Aiden Oneil made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Oneil was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Justin Owolabi was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
