Softball Recap: Brandon Valley Wins Going Away Against Yankton

Brandon Valley won the last time they faced Yankton and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lynx were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bucks/Gazelles. The result was nothing new for the Lynx, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

Gabriel Kriech made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

In other batting news, Peyton Amdahl was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in May of 2024. Macy Lembcke was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Brandon Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in seven consecutive contests.

Brandon Valley's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Yankton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brandon Valley will face off against Mitchell at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Kernels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.63 runs per game on average), something the Lynx will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Yankton, they are taking a road trip to take on O'Gorman at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bucks/Gazelles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
