Baseball Recap: San Carlos Gets the Win

San Carlos took a 15-run loss the last time they faced off against St. Michael, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Braves had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 9-8.

Elgin Valenzuela made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off 13 hits. Valenzuela was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bennett Victor, Jr., who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Cameron Stevens was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
